A nova geração do tênis de mesa brasileiro disputa a partir deste sábado (8/12), na Califórnia, nos EUA, o Campeonato Mundial Júnior. Vão representar o Brasil na competição Humberto Manhani, Eric Mancini, José Barbosa, Fernando Yamazato, Jéssica Yamada, Karin Fukushima, Gabriela Kock e Lívia Mizobuchi. Os jovens atletas terão uma dupla experiente no comando, os treinadores Lincon Yasuda e Wei Jian Ren, que dirigiram o Brasil nos Jogos Pan-Americanos do Rio de Janeiro.
“Fizemos treinos técnicos e táticos bastante intensos e estamos com uma boa expectativa para este evento. No trabalho que fizemos em São Bernardo antes do embarque, os atletas treinaram situações específicas de jogo como bolas curtas, contra ataque e colocação de bolas. Trabalharam também a defesa ativa e a preparação para contra-ataque.”, diz o treinador Lincon Yasuda.
O evento começa com a disputa de Equipes. A partir de segunda-feira (10/12) haverá as disputas de dupla mista, dupla e individual. O torneio vai até o dia 15/12.
