The new generation of Brazilian table tennis players keeps on showing its strength internationally and this Friday, 9/9, the boys and girl junior teams (under 18 years old) nailed another team tournament at the Brazilian Open, last stage of the World Junior Circuit of the International Table Tennis Federation, which is taking place in Guaruja city.

Efraim Carvalho and Ricardo Kojima defeated 3 - 0 the also Brazilian players, Humberto Manhani and Daniel Costa. At the female tournament, Mariany Nonaka and Karin Sako overcame the Colombian team also by 3 - 0.

"It is an important title, I'm happy, but I'm still not satisfied. I want to win the singles too! Ricardo and I are in a good streak and this is our second title as a team", said Efraim, referring to the Latin American Title won last month in El Salvador.

One of the main names of the new generation of table tennis players, Efraim Carvalho, at 17 years old, is very close to a spot at the Grand Final of the World Circuit. Currently 8th place in the international ranking, Efraim has almost stamped hi passport to the competition, which will be held in the Dominican Republic, in October. The Grand Final gathers the 12 best table tennis players of the year.

"I worked all season for this qualification. Brazil has grown internationally in the last few years and I know that I can perform well there", stated the player.

At the girls' competition, Mariany Nonaka has shown that she is well adapted to Karin Sako and has gone to the highest spot of the podium once again, since last year she was second. In 2003, Mariany was team champion besides Carina Murashique. The Brazilian player, who represented Brazil in the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, is number 12 in the ranking for the Grand Finals and has a good chance of going to the event.

"I have to be at least between the top three in the singles tournament in order to continue dreaming about a spot. It is difficult, but it is impossible. This team title has given me a lot of motivation to follow this goal", declared Mariany.

Highlight of the last calls of the Brazilian national junior team, Karin Sako has been slowly gaining her space as a regular of the team. Excited about the team title, she stressed that victories are a result of a lot of sweat during practice.

"I practice very hard every day and I outline goals. The biggest of them all is to be at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, but before I want to standout in my country and around Latin American", revealed Karin.

This Saturday, 9/10, at 9am the dispute of the singles event start.
