The Brazilian table tennis junior team has shown once more that it is the best in Latin-America, winning for the third time the male tournament and for the second the female one at the competition that ended Tuesday (July 2nd), in El Salvador. The result means that Brazil has guaranteed a place in both categories in the World Championship in Austria, in December.

The male squad that count with the athletes: Efraim Carvalho, Ricardo Kojima and Eric Mancini, was the unbeaten champion. The young table tennis players had already won the same tournament in 2003, in Venezuela, and in 2004 in Cuba.

"The campaign was perfect. Now we have to think about practice to the World Championship in Austria", said the male team's coach, Lincon Yasuda.

The female squad has also exceeded expectations, reaching their second championship even without the presence of the Olympic athlete Mariany Nonaka (injured on the left thigh) on the final. The athlete got hurt during her third Brazilian confront in the competition, against Colombia.

"The team has done really well specially Karin, who knew how to impose her game and replaced Mariany  downrightly", complimented the trainer, highlighting the table tennis player who won two matches against the Chileans on the final.
