BRAZILIAN JUNIOR OPEN BEGINS THIS THURSDAY

This Thursday, 9/8, begins at 9am in Guaruja, Sao Paulo, the Brazilian stage of the Junior Circuit of the International Table Tennis Federation, last Open on the world calendar of the table tennis players under 18 years old. The tournament will take place in the Gauibe gym. The Brazilian players, who were concentrated in the FranTT International Training Centre in Piracicaba, are ready to debut in the competition, which will count with the presence of 15 countries and 69 players. The Brazilian Junior Open ends on Sunday, 11^th of September.

The competition, the 11^th in the World Junior Circuit, is the last opportunity for table tennis players to guarantee points in the ranking and to stamp their passport to the Grand Finals, which will gather in October the best 12 athletes of the season. Brazil's Efraim Carvalho and Mariany Nonaka are very close to a spot. There will be team disputes, single and double in the championship. 

"I worked throughout the entire season for the Grand Finals. I'm eight on the list and there are good chances for me", said Efraim, who took part in five tournaments of the Circuit.

Besides Efraim Carvalho, Mariany Nonaka, who represented Brazil in the last edition of the Olympic Games in Athens, will be in the competition. The table tennis players who participated in the last Latin American Junior Championship will also dispute the Brazilian Open.
