The Latin Cup came to an end yesterday's afternoon and the Brazilian players had a ball. They won the title in the categories: girls' cadet, girls' junior and boys' junior.

In the girls' cadet category the big champion was the Brazilian player Kim Inokushi, who, with a lot of attitude, won 3 sets to 1 the final match against Colombia's Laura Molina (11-8, 6-11, 11-8 and 11-6). The bronze medals went to the also Brazilians Karin Fukushima and Livia Mizobuchi.

"The level of the tournament was really good and I'm pleased to win the final match against a foreign athlete in an international event", said Kim.

Amongst the boys, the final was French. The gold went to Michael Samovillan, who in the final beat his compatriot, Jean Gregoire, by 3 sets to 1 (11-4, 8-11, 11-9 and 11-8). The Brazilian player, José Barbosa, and the Colombian player, Juan Restrepo, received the bronze medals.

"I liked the organization of the event and the good level of the technical skills of the other athletes. The training camp in Piracicaba was essential to the success of the athletes in the matches", guaranteed the French coach, Canteux Pascal.

In the junior tournament, Brazil ruled and showed its strength with Karin Sako and Efraim Carvalho as the big champions.

Karin Sako played against Patricia Raboni and won 4 sets to 0 (11-9, 11-2, 11-6 and 11-5). The bronze medals went to Mariany Nonaka and Maira Ranzeiro.

Karin feels that playing two competitions, one right after the other, was difficult.

"A lot of matches were tense, complicated, but in the end I managed to overcome my physical and mental tiredness", revealed Karin.

In the boys' decision, the victory of Efraim Carvalho over the French Clement Drop brought to a good end the competition. Clement won the two first sets for 7-11 and 8-11, but the third set Efrain won easily, 11-2, recovering his game. The defeat in the third partial took Clement of his balance and he ended up losing the next three sets for 11-9, 11-3 and 11-6.
