The brazilian table tennis players Mariany Nonaka and Karin Sako were the champions of the doubles tournament of the Brazilian Junior Open, in Guarujá (São Paulo), which is the last stage of the International Table Tennis Circuit. Mariany and Karin won the final against the Colombian double Paula Medina and Laura Molina by 3-1 (11-6, 11-4, 8-11 and 11-6).

The double, who was vice-champion of the Latin American Championship last month, celebrated a lot the victory.

"We are a winner's double and we want this partnership to last many more years. We know that generally the doubles' title is not really valued by most countries, but this is a category that is worth Olympics and Pan American medals", said Karin Sako, 17 years old.

Representative of Brazil in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, Mariany knows the importance of the conquest.

"I wish I had gone further in the singles competition, but this title will give us a lot of motivation to keep on working", stated Mariany, who this Monday (9/12) will start disputing the Latin Cup also in Guarujá.

Brazil has also won the girls' cadet doubles title (Karin Fukushima and Lívia Misobushi) and the girls' cadet singles (Karin Fukushima).
