It was a domestic dispute for the men's singles final, but the title eventually went to Cho Eon Rae, who won over Lee Jin Kwon 4 games to 1 (11/3, 11/9, 9/11, 11/2 and 11/5). This means that South Korea has captured their third title at the Brazilian Open, in Sao Paulo - the others were the Women's Under-21 and Women's Doubles.

"South America agrees with Cho, he even said it himself that he is always very lucky here. I'm proud of him, he has played extremely well throughout the tournament", said Jae Hwa Lee, Cho's coach, at the same time that the player was coming over to celebrate the victory.

A curious fact: none of the players had their coach seating by them, since this is considered bad manners for the Koreans.
