Minoru Kano, father of the champion Claudio Kano, deceased 1st of July 1996, watched the matches this Friday in the Brazilian Open, in Sirio Sport Club. It has been a while since he went to a stadium to watch a table tennis confront.
"After Claudio died, I decided to spend some time away. In 2002 I went to the Brazilian Open in Ibirapuera; since then I haven't been to anything related to table tennis", Mr. Kano recalls.
He tells that Claudio's son, Christopher, who is 14 years old, has also started stroking with a racket - though, not with a table tennis one, but with a conventional tennis racket.
