France nailed two team titles in the Latin Table Tennis Cup this Tuesday, winning the Junior and Cadet boys' categories.
The Cadet category was won after France bet Brazil A team in a thrilling match and closing the score in 3 matches to 2. In the first confrontation the Brazilian player Fernando Yamato, in an excellent match, won 3-1 Michael Samouillan from France (3-11, 11-3, 11-8 and 11-7). After that Jean Greogoire beat Lucas Tatani by 3 sets to 0, tying the series to France 1-1 (11-4, 11-5 and 12-10). The doubles' match was won by the Brazilian players 3 sets to 1 (11-8, 8-11, 11-8 and 11-7). Even with 2 matches to 1 advantage taken, the Brazilian squad let the French team take over. Michael Samouillan defeated the Brazilian Lucas Tatani by 3 sets to 1 (11-9, 7-11, 13-11 and 11-7) and Jean Gregoire also won 3 sets to 1 (11-4, 10-12, 11-7 and 11-9) Fernando Yamazato.
After the cadet title was guaranteed, the French went after the Brazilian Junior A team and secured the second title of the day by 3 matches to 1.
